Community & Social Participation
At New Leaf Care, community participation is about more than “going out” — it’s about feeling included, building confidence, and creating meaningful connections. We support you to engage in the community in ways that match your interests, comfort level, and goals — with respectful staff by your side.
What we can support with
- Social outings: cafés, parks, community events, markets, festivals
- Hobbies & interests: art, music, sport, fitness, gaming, crafts, gardening
- Groups & clubs: community groups, hobby clubs, cultural groups, church/community activities
- Building friendships: support to meet people safely and grow social confidence
- Appointments & errands: shopping, pharmacy, GP, community services
- Skill practice in real life: communication, public transport practice, planning and routines
- Supported holidays/day trips: local day trips and planned activities (as funded/appropriate)

Examples of participation goals
Not sure what to put in your plan? Here are common goals we can help with:
- “I want to go out into the community more often.”
- “I want to join a group or activity I enjoy.”
- “I want to build confidence meeting new people.”
- “I want support to attend appointments and run errands independently.”
Let’s plan something you’ll enjoy
We’d love to learn what you enjoy and how we can support you to participate more in the community.
